Your role

Cheshire East Council is proud of its Local Offer to our Care Leavers and a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our dedicated and passionate team of Personal Advisors. We are looking for someone who can build on the excellent progress that the service has made in recent years, who can secure an appropriate level of recognition at our next inspection, and help us to deliver our aspirations and vision for a lifelong offer to our care-experienced young people. You will need to be creative and work on initiatives within the Council and beyond to review and improve the Local Offer, lead on the delivery of quality practice in the Team on a daily basis, and ensure that it complies with all relevant legislation and statutory guidance. We are ambitious and you will have a key role in both service delivery and service development, working with other managers and partners to deliver a strength based approach through multi-agency and collaborative working, with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for our Care Leavers.

Your background

You will need to be a qualified and registered social worker with extensive experience of working with care-experienced young people, and be a confident decision maker who can provide leadership, support and professional development both to the Care Leavers’ Team itself and to colleagues throughout Children’s Social Care. You will need a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing Care Leavers in their daily lives, a proven track record of working alongside key partner agencies, be comfortable in handling performance management data and challenge, and have innovative ideas for service delivery and improvement. Above all else, we are looking for someone with passion and resilience who is only interested in achieving the best possible outcomes for the young people and Care Leavers of Cheshire East.
